Plexiglas^® Rnew bio-based high performance resins

Plexiglas^® Rnew, is a bio-based high performance family of thermoplastic resins compounded with the best biopolymers available. The formulated blends rival the performance of engineered thermoplastics, such as polycarbonates and copolyesters. This new technology allows for outstanding chemical resistance characteristics, a step change in impact resistance, and high melt flow for easy processing.

Altuglas International can tailor properties of these alloys such as impact and chemical resistance to meet some of the most demanding application conditions. Finally, these resulting developments do so without significantly affecting properties such as optics, scratch resistance, color acceptance, and surface esthetics for which the Plexiglas^® brand is known, while at the same time reducing carbon footprint.

The resulting formulated blends can be tailored to meet a broad range of property requirements for durable applications offering alternative sustainable solutions.
