Horizontal Installation
Flat plates of Plexiglas® sheet installed horizontally will deform permanently under continuous loads such as snow, ice or water or in large, unsupported spans under their own weight.

Deflections of horizontal installations can be avoided by forming Plexiglas® sheet to increase its rigidity, as in corrugated or slightly domed sheets.

In interior installations such as luminous ceilings where forming may not be practical or aesthetically desirable, care must be taken to correlate unsupported span dimensions and load requirements with adequate sheet thickness. Specific data for such installations follow.
