Air Cannon Impact Strength The impact resistance of Plexiglas® sheet is affected by the hardness of the impacting object. This test is a measure of the velocity and energy required for a projectile of specified weight and tip radius, shot from an air cannon, to break a specimen. This highly practical test gives perhaps the best indication of the impact strength that can be expected of a part in service. Samples are 14" x 20", with edges tightly clamped.
