38 | *Noise reduction obtained from enclosures is dependent upon the completeness of the enclosure, tightness of joints, etc. The above dB(A) noise reductions represent complete, absolutely tight enclosures without any openings, large or small. These conditions are seldom achieved; however, rarely are they required to reduce noise sources to below hearing damage criteria. The main purpose of this table is to indicate the noise reduction capabilities of commonly used materials in terms of dB(A).
