Altuglas International will launch a new interactive timeline that showcases how Plexiglas® acrylic sheet and resin have impacted our world over the past seven decades. The timeline demonstrates how Plexiglas® acrylic sheet and resin have evolved since the creation of PMMA in 1933 – from aircraft canopies in WWII to today’s technologies and luxuries. In addition to this timeline, a comprehensive history of Plexiglas® is available that details how the conceptualization of this product has led to its modern applications. Each can be viewed at www.plexiglas.com/history.

The rich history of Plexiglas® can be attributed to the innovative minds of its creators. Since the invention of Plexiglas®, the original PMMA sheet and resin, researchers have always partnered with industry professionals to adapt it to market demands. Whether it was for the canopies of aircraft, components of medical devices, or displays for hi-definition projectors, Plexiglas® acrylic sheet and resin have been utilized in a variety of applications that helped shape the lifestyles of North Americans.

This historical timeline has been launched in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of the Plexiglas® brand. For more information about Plexiglas® acrylic sheet and resin, its applications, or its anniversary, please visit www.plexiglas.com.
