Medical Market

Medical grade Plexiglas® acrylic resins provide a beneficial balance of features particularly suited to medical device applications. Our newest breakthrough addition to the Plexiglas® family, PLEXIGLAS® CR 50 delivers superior environmental stress crack resistance to lipid emulsions, isopropyl alcohol, oncology drugs, and TPN solutions when compared to all other clear engineered resin technologies, while maintaining toughness.

Other outstanding properties of the Plexiglas® acrylic resin family include excellent sterilizability (gamma, e-beam, eto), PVC compatibility, ease and consistency of processability, dimensional stability, bondability to many dissimilar polymers, and excellent UV transmittance. Like PLEXIGLAS® CR 50, our other high impact resistant Plexiglas® SG7 and SG10 resins are engineered for applications where gamma and or e-beam sterilization is required with no loss in mechanical properties and virtually no discoloration.

Plexiglas acrylic resins meet or exceed the biological reactivity tests conducted under the requirements for a USP Class VI Plastic. Tests on human blood have shown no significant hemolysis.
